The beginning

When I was younger I used to be afraid of the dark. Mainly the idea that monsters would come out of the closet at night and snatch me up and carry me away. My siblings told me that there were no monsters in the closet, but I was still scared.

One night while I was laying in bed, trying to make myself believe that there were no monsters in the closet, an idea struck me. I had an adorable stuffed animal rabbit named Lily that I couldn't sleep without, and while I was clinging to Lily I thought, if monsters do come out of the closet then Lily can grow into a massive rabbit and fight them off. From that day on I've never been scared of monsters coming out of the closet.

Later on when I had grown quite a lot, I joined a drawing challenge of sorts where you could only use black pens or black ink, and pencils (for a light sketch to go over with the pen or ink). During that time I was trying to think of something to draw when I remembered the idea of a giant rabbit.

This idea amused me quite a lot so I went to work. I added the girl in because I liked the idea of her riding around on a giant bunny. The picture took longer then I thought it would but it was enjoyable drawing it for the most part.

When I was finished it was a bit different then what I had imagined it to look like, but so is every picture I draw. The rabbit was smaller and there wasn't as much detail in the landscape as I wanted. But since I had already went over it with a brush pen and gel pen there was nothing I could do to change it.

As the challenge went on I drew more pictures of the girl and the rabbit. Soon I had a story idea and was imagining all sorts of things that could be in the world.

I came up with so many ideas for it that I began to wonder if I should try to write it down and make it into a story.

For a while I thought about this, but this wasn't the only story idea I had. There was another one that I had come up with a few years before the rabbit one. This idea I was determined to write down, but since I came up with it before I knew how to spell I hadn't been able to do much progress on it.

When I realized that I knew how to spell (sometimes you forget you know) I knew I had to work on it. So the rabbit one was put aside.

As I tried to write continually on my first idea, (which was harder then I thought it was going to be) I came up with other ideas. After a while of trying to write several stories at the same time I realized a problem. In my mind I imagined them to be full length book series, but I couldn't write that much at the same time. So I decided to make some of the ideas into short stories.

I want to add that I'm still working on them, I haven't finished any of them yet, but I plan on.

With a better plan I started moving forward in my writing. I actually finished a chapter in my book (impressive right?), and I was thinking more on how the plot would work, since I had come up with so many ideas for it. While I was working on this, the rabbit idea hopped back to me. I started thinking about that too. It would come and go from my mind , and sometimes I wouldn't think about it for a while, but it always came back.

Then when I was designing my blog and trying to think of what to add in it, I came up with the idea of doing short stories about the girl and rabbit (*cough cough* definitely not just a few hours before this post*cough cough*) and posting them here.

In the near future I want to write them down and come up with more ideas for the world.

Right now I'll just continue writing and reading and praising God for the wonderful imagination he gave me.

I hope you have enjoyed this story, have a blessed day!
